Kaitiaki (Atua) Blocks - 2 x Large Blocks and 8 x Small Blocks
Set includes 2 x Large Blocks, Ranginui and Papatuanuku (the parents) and 8 x Small Blocks, Tane Mahuta, Tangaroa, Tawhirimatea, Rongomatane, Haumiatiketike, Tumatauenga, Ruaumoko and Rehua (the children).
Block size: Large 9.5cm x 9.5cm x 25cm and Small 4.5cm x 4.5cm x 12cm. Wood used for blocks is various woods depending on availability.
Blocks can be used for building (build a volcano and put Ruaumoko on top), creating an environment and put appropriate Kaitiaki to it (learning about our environment and taking care of it) stacking to tell legends (as per image example), art and design, cultural, activity (rubbing with a pencil as per image example), taonga hauora/wairua (blocks are tactile), literacy (each block has the Atua name and who they represent), te reo and pronunciation (learning the full names of the Atua and practicing correct pronunciation and getting used to Maori words) or even for decor.
So much learning in just one resource.
