Standard measurements for the Patu will be approx 37cm (14½”) long & blade 11½cm (4½") wide and weighs 480gms, however can be made to suit client. They can be as plain as your want or as heavily carved. Adornment, such as paua (aboloni) shell, muka (flax fibre), feathers and other elements can be added specific to the request of the recipient.
The photos below show an example of a Patu made, authentic in every way and can be used for performances, ceromonial, private collection, private or coporate gift - its the real deal made out of New Zealand indigenous hard wood.
The price stated will buy you a Patu similar to the one depicted in the photos. Anything extra, e.g. more carving along blade etc, will cost more and price can be discussed at the time of order.
The Patu can be made to order or custom made personalised to recipient's request (genealogy etc).
